Just the rear camera or do your wheel controls not work also? If so, did you get the proper canbus adapter with the unit?

@@KameleonKustoms yup, it was the vanbus adaptor. I had to unplug it from the other set of wires and attach it to the one the other set I was using.

It actually improved it slightly. New shocks all the way around plus the lowering of the front gave it less preload so it's a little softer up front. 4 years later and it's still doing great!

Thanks for replying. Last question if I may. Does SOS kit allow you to only drop the rear to match the front factory height? My Tundra only has 15k miles on it, and I'm happy with the front height, so not looking to alter front suspension (replace shocks, etc.) unless required. @@KameleonKustoms

@@bradj229 they sell a rear only kit but not entirely sure if it will match the oem front. Best bet is to reach out to Tom @ SOS Performance and he can answer all your questions. I do know you will need new rear shocks if you do the 3.5 or 4 inch rear drop.

That is because every manufacturer has their own firmware and ways to obtain it. Phoenix you have to contact support and pray they will send it to you. I just did this video as a what to do once you get it because they provide near zero support on how to install it once you do get it.

The original Phoenix brand unit had its screen die within a few months, replacement sane thing. Ended up getting a Klyde brand one and it's been rock solid since.

No problems here, over 3 years and no issues tp speak of. If you bought it from tech12volt, give them a call and see if they can help you troubleshoot it. They are great guys.

@@KameleonKustoms is there a canbus the climate control connects to? My climate control is all shadowed out and not working. The plug that connects to the factory climate control does not fit anywhere on the device. Thanks for any assistance you can give me. I cant seem to get support to get back to me from Phoenix.

@@MissingPersonsMysteries Phoenix never replied to any of my messages. There was an adapter that was for the canbus if I remember correctly. On my klyde unit it is just directly on the unit, no adapter.

@@KameleonKustoms thanks for getting back. I bought one on marketplace and it seems to be missing the canbus and im missing the antenna and gps antenna. Unfortunately, i cant find them online on Phoenix website. i really appreciate your help! if there is anything i can do to return the favor let me know.

What did you want to see? They work just the same as stock.

@KameleonKustoms That's great, I spent a lot on a Crutchfield order only not to have steering wheel controls.

@@davek6854 yeah you have to have the canbus adapter.

I believe it depends on your manufacturer and how they deliver the update. Some keep apps and settings, others full wipe. Personally I prefer the full wipe so nothing that can cause issues is left behind.

Usually you get it from the manufacturer.

In my newer videos I state that I don't recommend the Phoenix brand any more. I had 2 units both screens die within 6 months. Ended up going with a Klyde brand and it has been great and problem free for 2+ years now.

Zero. As long as you have the correct module it should just work.

I did an update video on this subject. Check it out if you have time. Basically though, the Phoenix units were trash and I went through 2 in a short period of time. Ended up getting a better brand and have had zero issues to this day. It has been a few years now.

Unfortunately with this video being over 2 years old I do not have this unit any longer. I ended up going back to the tesla style unit as I prefer it's form factor. The tesla style unit has served me well since. However on carplay, I never understood the appeal of android auto or carplay on a full android device like this when you can just turn on your hotspot and have everything you need on the device itself. I know carplay/aa works, you just need to launch the app on the radio first. Also when you order it, use my link and make sure you message the seller with your vehicle year and all so that you will get the proper canbus adapter for your truck.

Mine came with the canbus adapter that kept all oem controls.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm not having the same success with this head unit like you are having. Not to mention, my phone will not connect to the Bluetooth feature. I'll just have to contact the manufacturer so see what suggestions they may have to solve this issue.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will try this head unit out instead of waiting two months for the Tesla-style head unit to come in. I have the SR5 trim, so hopefully, this radio will work in my Tundra the same way it works in yours. Once again, thanks for the video.

Try unplugging your negative battery cable for about 30 minutes. Before you reconnect it, be sure there is nothing plugged in to the unit. No USB, no charging cables, nothing. Then when you reconnect the negative cable try cranking your vehicle and let it run while the device boots. That should get you going.

If you get the right one, then yes. Do not get a Phoenix as I went through two of them with bad screens. Been rocking the Klyde for 2 years now with no issues. Check out my other video on this subject as I go in depth on the issues.

When you order the kit from Tom @ SOS just let him know you need the shocks too and he will hook you up. When I did mine he got them to me for less than I could find them anywhere else.

@@KameleonKustoms Summit has the front for $210 a pair and the rears for $178 a pair, that's $150 less than the price on their web site. I don't know how much you paid for the 4 of them. I think the part number for the rears is 24-024792 just wondered if you still had or remembered the part number. Thanks for getting back to me. Your Truck looks Great !!!!!

True, however the OEM ones are not sequential turn signals and cost 10x what this simple mod does. I actually went 18+ Platinum OEM full leds after this but am keeping the sequential turns only part of this.
